Alice O’Malley-Woods
I am a poet, artist, and activist whose creative work explores themes of ecology, human/non-human relationships, eco-spirituality and more recently Irish diasporic identity. My practice is place-based, conducted in-situ in wild spaces with which I have a strong emotional resonance, notably: the peatlands of Dartmoor, the salty south west coast of Devon, the chalky South Downs, and the rivers Ouse and Dart. I engage in writing and mark-making interchangeably, using botanical inks from locally found plants.
In addition to my independent art practice, I am currently undertaking an AHRC funded arts-based PhD at the University of Brighton, exploring the intersection of disability, grief and more-than-human relationships.
My debut pamphlet Ecotone is forthcoming with the Black Cat Poetry Press in 2026
